PRICING
I believe in price transparency when it comes to deathwork. End of life is a time when expenses mount for all income brackets—and they accumulate in lockstep with evolving grief and diminishing capacity. As we move farther along death’s spectrum, we can find ourselves with less access to the rational, organized, practical thinking that we would typically use to guide us in selecting the support we wish to receive. Grief and trauma can dramatically lessen our ability to conduct business as usual, taking our logical selves offline as we focus our energy on our emotional and spiritual bodies. We often simply lack the time and composure needed to track down, record, and compare rates through multiple phone calls and emails.
Honoring this, I present my pricing structure here for greater ease in gathering the information you need to make the choices that work best for you. I do not offer a sliding scale, as I feel that introduces a burden of ascertaining financial need that can be uncomfortable at best for all involved. Instead, my rates allow me to both continue to offer my services as a volunteer with three different hospice programs as well as to take on one to two pro bono clients per year in my private practice.
Those interested in financial support may wish to apply for a scholarship through The Welcome Wellspring, an Arizona-based community organization for which Night Rose Deathcare is a Wellness Partner. I am also open to discussions around barter and payment plans. Please feel encouraged to open a conversation no matter your means.
*Rates are effective as of June 2026.
Death Midwifery Services
Services are offered relative to the number of hours desired for support, on a prepayment basis. This allows for spaciousness and flexibility in the work, keeps costs known, and promotes regular check-ins that help us stay in right relationship. Whether I’m helping decipher paperwork or holding a hand through a critical moment, the quality of my support is informed and influenced equally by the entirety of my education and experience.
In-person support: $130 per hour
Virtual & phone support: $110 per hour
On-call in-person vigil support: $150 per hour (billed at conclusion of visit)
Special-topics research & resourcing: $85 per hour
Packages: Flat-rate packages are available upon request.
Transportation costs: Additional fees separate from hourly support rates may be incurred for travel to service addresses greater than 10 miles from ZIP code 85257 and may be discussed at time of engagement.
Celebrant Services
Full-service packages containing the elements described on the Ceremonies page are typically set at a flat rate, plus reimbursement for travel costs and for any items purchased in support of the service, such as keepsakes. Services that exceed two hours in active duration or are delayed by more than 20 minutes, require more than one location (a celebration of life at home followed by interment of ashes at a columbarium, for example), or are otherwise unusually complex will incur additional costs that may be negotiated on an individual basis.
Standard flat rate:
$600 (50% deposit paid in advance, 50% billed at completion of service)
Transportation fees:
Round-trip travel up to 74 miles is reimbursed from ZIP code 85257 according to the current IRS rate ($0.725/mile in 2026). Additionally, a flat $10 fuel surcharge will apply to round-trip distances greater than 20 miles but fewer than 75 miles. Round-trip distances greater than 75 miles will be billed at $1/mile.
