CEREMONIES

Your loved one deserves a memorial that is unique to them—not just a fill-in-the-blank service prepared with minimal family consultation. My experience as a funeral attendant has given me a unique window into the care, disposition, and honoring of the body once one dies, across many faith and cultural traditions. It has led me to my work as a funeral celebrant, which is a natural extension of my role as a death midwife. I apply the same compassionate approach to helping you craft a meaningful ceremony for your departed loved one. As a writer and editor for more than 25 years, I bring a storyteller’s spirit to my work and excel at commemorating the life story of the person who has passed. My funeral celebrant services in south-central Arizona include:

  • Talking about your loved one & learning their wishes for the ceremony as well as your own, whether it’s held at home or in a more contemporary setting

  • Liaising with your selected funeral home or other venue professionals

  • Helping you to coordinate music, speakers, readings (religious and secular), guest lists, display objects, slideshows/videos, rituals & keepsakes

  • Mapping out the event schedule & elements in collaboration with funeral home or venue staff

  • Composing & delivering a remembrance speech or eulogy that draws deeply from information you share

  • Officiating the event

  • Planning annual gatherings to continue to remember your loved one

  • Offering empathetic support & guidance throughout the process
